Trail Magic Times Two
Day 16 Saturday April 8, 2017
Mile: 115.4 - 125.3
9:02am - 5:05pm
Weather: Sunny and Brisk, snow on ground
Near Burningtown Gap
It was a sluggish start to our hike this morning after a double zero day. In case I haven't mentioned it before, a zero day is a day without any hiking. All we managed to do is a snail's pace but we did make it to our scheduled destination even with two unplanned stops.
We were blessed with trail magic times two. One at lunch time and one at supper time only a mile from our campsite. Talk about timing.
Lunch time. Pace at the grill
Generous locals
It was such a treat. The kindness by strangers is so wonderful. They expect nothing in return expect a smile.
We saw snow today leftover from the last two nights' vad weather. I am so glad we got off the trail.
Batman has joined us most of the day. Hiking in then out. Jumping ahead by car and meeting us.
Tomorrow we will be at the Nantahala Outdoor Center and finally get our reward. Giant burgers.
Happy Hiking.
